Navigating the Bible

The Bible interface is the main operator page. It lets you browse all 66 books of the Old and New Testament, select a chapter, and display verses for projection.

Book selection — Searchable dropdown menu. Type the first letters to filter (e.g., "Joh" for John, "Gen" for Genesis). Books are organized by Old Testament then New Testament.
Chapter selection — Numeric grid displaying all chapters of the selected book. Click a number to load its verses.
Verse display — Verses display in a grid (compact view) or list (detailed view). Toggle between the two modes to suit your preference.
Quick navigation — Previous / next chapter buttons to navigate without returning to the grid.

Bible Versions

lixPresentr supports over 90 Bible versions in 50+ languages. Select your primary version via the version dropdown menu.

Free — Louis Segond (LSG) and King James Version (KJV) included with all plans.
Pro — Access to every other version in the catalog (Darby, Martin, Ostervald, ASV, WEB, and many more), downloaded from the Bible manager.

Importing your own Bible files

A version you already own elsewhere can be imported from a file, in the desktop app: the “Bibles” button in the Bible page toolbar, then the “Import” tab of the Bible manager.

Accepted formats — JSON (common shapes) and Zefania, OSIS, Beblia and OpenSong XML, whatever the text encoding. The format is detected from the file content and shown before import. Up to 30 MB per file.
Preview before importing — a few sample verses are shown in plain text so you can check the text is readable. Missing books, empty chapters and books placed by position are reported. The name and language are pre-filled when the file provides them; the abbreviation (2 to 6 characters) is the one shown on screen.
No text lost — a verse number that appears twice is merged in file order, and an error names the exact book, chapter and verse at fault.
Replace or delete — importing a version with the same name replaces it and keeps the templates that use it; the “Imported versions” list lets you delete it.

An imported version is enabled automatically and is covered by full-text search. For each import, you confirm you hold the rights required to use it.

The file stays on your computer: it is never sent to our servers, synced or shared with your team — import it again on each computer. A verse copied into a slide does follow that slide's syncing, however, and with the AI assistant the verses relevant to the answer are sent to the AI service.

Enabled versions (downloaded or imported) are kept when the app updates.

Projecting a Verse

Projecting a verse involves two steps: selection then sending to the screen.

Single click — Selects the verse and displays it in the preview panel.
Double click — Selects and instantly projects the verse on the projection screen.
Live button — Toggles live projection on or off. When Live is active (green), the selected verse is visible on the projection screen.
Blank button — Shows a black screen on the projection without deselecting the current verse. Useful during prayer or transitions.
Clear Live — Removes all content from the projection and returns to an empty screen.

Tip: The preview panel at the bottom of the operator screen shows exactly what will be projected. Always check the rendering there before going Live.

Multi-Version Display

Display up to 3 Bible versions side by side on the projection screen, letting your congregation compare translations.

Click the "+" button next to the version selector to add an additional version.
Select the desired version from the dropdown that appears.
Repeat to add a third version (maximum 3).
To remove a version, click the x button next to it.

Versions display in side-by-side columns on the projection screen. Text is automatically resized to fit the available space.

Version combinations

A set of versions you use often can be saved as a named combination (“Trilingual”, “FR / EN”…), optionally with its associated template. One click in the Combinations menu of the version selector applies it again: versions and layout come back at once.

Search

The search bar automatically detects the query type and uses the most suitable mode.

Reference search — Type a reference like "John 3:16" or "Ps 23:1". Direct navigation to the verse.
Keyword search — FTS5 indexing (SQLite Full-Text Search). Results in under 10 ms. Search for exact words or phrases.
Quote search — Type or dictate a fragment of a verse, even approximate ("for God so loved the world"): the engine finds the passage in your enabled versions. Also available from the AI assistant (Ctrl+K), without consuming credits.

The results panel

A keyword or quote search opens a results panel in place of the chapter, rather than a short dropdown:

Filters by testament and by book, and a choice of the version being searched.
“Exact phrase” option, to show only the verses containing the whole phrase.
Search terms highlighted in every result, with the result count and response time shown.
Add one result — or all the results at once — to the playlist, with a progress bar and a report (added, partial, failed).
A “Chapter” button returns to normal reading without losing the search.

Desktop — Keyword and quote search rely on a local index (FTS5): they are available in the desktop app, on every downloaded version, on any plan. The web version only offers navigation by reference.

Custom Verses

Save verses to a quick-access list for easy retrieval during the service. This list persists across chapters and sessions.

Right-click a verse to add it to the quick-access list.
Search results can be added directly from the results list.
AI voice transcription automatically adds detected references to the list.
Click a verse in the list to navigate to it and project it.

Tip: Prepare your verses in the quick-access list before the service. You can then switch between verses with a single click.
