Projection Templates
Pre-built Templates
lixPresentr includes several ready-to-use projection templates, suited to different worship contexts. Each template controls the appearance of projected verses: font, size, colors, background, and layout.
- Dark (popular) — Black background with white text. The most readable on most projectors and screens.
- Light — White or light gray background with dark text. Suited for well-lit rooms.
- Image background — Landscape photos, textures, or custom images as background. Text remains readable thanks to shadow or overlay effects.
- Minimalist — Clean design with maximum whitespace. Ideal for contemporary-style churches.
Every template is fully customizable: background (solid color, gradient, or image), font, element layout, visual effects, and Bible reference display style.
Recommendation: A dark background with white text provides the best readability in most worship venues. Always test your template on the projector before the service.
Visual Editor
The template editor uses a canvas in the chosen aspect ratio (16:9 by default, with 4:3 / 21:9 / 9:16 / 1:1 presets, or a free resolution for LED walls), matching the output resolution. You can position and resize elements by drag-and-drop directly on the canvas.
- Drag-and-drop positioning with alignment grid.
- Real-time preview: every change is visible instantly.
- Elements use percentage-based positioning for consistent rendering at any resolution.

Text: automatic fitting and typography
Since version 1.1.22, text always fits its box: automatic fitting is on by default, and a verse that is too long shrinks instead of being cut off — identically in the editor, the preview and the projection.
- Floating toolbar — Font, size, bold, colour and alignment appear right under the selected text.
- Typography — Bulleted and numbered lists, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript/subscript, small caps, font weights from 100 to 900, letter spacing, columns, first-line indent, free size up to 500 px.
- Effects — Eight one-click effects (shadow, neon, outline, hollow, echo, plate…), text gradient (2 colours + angle), 3D perspective, and curved text (arch, wave, full 360° circle).
- Format painter and styles — Copy a text style (Ctrl+Alt+C) and apply it to another (Ctrl+Alt+V). Save your favourite styles to reuse them.
- Bundled fonts — Twelve Google fonts ship with the app: no network needed, true bold and italics, identical rendering on every machine. The picker offers search, recents and favourites.
Widgets
The Widgets panel adds dynamic elements to a slide:
- QR code — generated locally, adjustable colours.
- Countdown — to a time or a duration.
- Ticker (marquee) — horizontal or vertical (bottom → top for announcements and credits), adjustable speed, separator and edge fade.
- Clock — 12h / 24h, with or without the date.
- Curved text — arch, wave or circle.
Image tools
- Remove background — One click removes an image background, 100% locally and offline. “Restore original” at any time.
- Eraser — Erase or restore areas with a brush (soft or hard, zoom, undo).
- Crop and masks — Non-destructive crop (double-click), shape masks, feathered edges.
- Effects — Border, filters (brightness, contrast, saturation, blur, black & white, sepia), tint / duotone, filter presets, drop shadow, mirror. Effects respect the transparency of cut-out images.
Layout, layers and slide strip
- Align to page — Six buttons in the Position panel (top, middle, bottom, left, center, right), available in the slide editor, Bible and song templates and the Display Stage. Works on text, images, shapes and rotated elements.
- Layers and properties — Layers panel in the left toolbar (lock, hide, reorder) and tabbed properties panel Style / Layout / Animate — identical across the four editors.
- Slide strip — At the bottom of the slide editor: reorder by drag and drop, duplicate or delete a slide on hover (with confirmation). Changes are saved automatically when you switch slides.
- Gestures — Alt while resizing: from the center. Shift: axis lock (move) or ratio lock (resize). Ctrl-drag: duplicate. Alt-click: select the element underneath. (Slide editor.)
Identical rendering: the editor, the thumbnails, the preview and the projection use the same rendering engine. What you see in the editor is exactly what will be projected, whatever the zoom.

Transitions
Transitions apply to verse changes. The background stays stable — only the text is animated for a professional look.
- Fade — Crossfade (most popular)
- Slide Left / Right — Horizontal slide
- Slide Up / Down — Vertical slide
- Zoom — Zoom-in effect
- Dissolve — Progressive dissolve
- Cut — Instant change (no animation)
Configurable duration from 200 ms to 2000 ms. Multiple easing options (linear, ease-in, ease-out, ease-in-out) to adjust the acceleration curve.
Tip: A 300-500 ms Fade is the best balance between smoothness and speed for most services.
