Lower Third

Overview

Lower thirds are professional on-screen graphics used to display a speaker (kicker, name and title), or to scroll an announcement. 27 broadcast looks ship with the app, and four independent layers can be on air at the same time: Speaker, Ticker, Logo and Info. Each layer has its own auto-hide and its own loop — relaunching a lower third while another one is exiting never cuts the new one.

The Direct page

The Lower thirds page is a one-click control surface: you prepare your lower thirds ahead of time, then air them live without ever filling in a form during the service.

• Each lower third is a card with a real thumbnail — what you see is what goes to screen.
• One click on a card puts the lower third on air, a second click cuts it.
• Keys 1 to 9 air or cut the first nine cards of the current view, 0 or Esc cut everything, and “/” focuses the search field.
• Your own groups, which you create and name freely (for example Speakers, Announcements, Permanent), plus the search box, find any lower third instantly.
• The “On air” panel lists what is actually on screen, with a Cut button per lower third and a Cut all button.
• Hovering a card shows the lower third as a ghost in the preview, without sending anything to screen.

Creating and editing happens in a dedicated window (double-click a card, or “+ New”): content on the left (name, title, photo, group), position, scrolling, animation and size settings, preview and look gallery on the right. A “Test” button plays the entry and exit in the preview without touching the projection screen.

The 27 looks

The catalogue is made of two families:

• 14 tintable recipes — dark or light bar, frosted glass, gradient, outline, badge, ticker, cinema, gala, broadcast… You pick the colour, and the whole look follows it.
• 13 church signatures — ready to use, with their sample text: Welcome, Reading, Worship, Prayer, Announcements, Giving, On air, Stained glass, Countdown…

The look gallery is filtered by use — All, Speaker, Worship, Announcements, Branding — and searchable by name. Thumbnails are rendered by the real display engine, on your preview background: what you see in the gallery is what goes to screen.

Customization

In the editor window, every lower third is fully customizable:

• Kicker (“On air”, “Series…”, “Reading”), name and title
• Speaker photo (automatically resized before storage)
• Look: 27 looks in a filterable gallery — switching look keeps the content you typed
• Accent colour: the suggested swatches, or your church colour (brand kit)
• 6 screen positions (top/bottom x left/center/right)
• Text alignment and lower-third size (50 to 150%)
• Saved lower thirds, organized in groups for regular speakers

The brand kit (your church accent colour and logo, shared with your organisation through the Cloud plan) is picked up automatically when you create a lower third: your branding stays consistent without setting it every time.

• Guaranteed legibility: looks without an opaque background lay a gradient scrim under the text, which stays readable over a photo or a bright shot
• Rendering follows the output resolution: a lower third has the same apparent size in 1080p and in 4K

Animations

Entry and exit animations give your lower thirds a professional look:

• Slide
• Fade
• Scale

Animation duration is adjustable from 0.2 to 2 seconds. Auto-hide makes the lower third disappear after a delay; the on-air state in the control bar and on the remote follows the screen exactly. Loop repeats the animation continuously.

Dedicated output and keying

In Settings → Projection → Outputs, an output whose source is "Lower Third" shows only the lower thirds, on a black background or on the chroma color when enabled. Ideal to key the lower thirds into vMix, OBS or a video switcher during a live stream. Lower-third size follows the screen resolution (1080p, 4K) and the page preview matches the output.

Team work

With cloud sync, lower thirds follow the team: creations, edits and deletions propagate from one machine to another. A deletion made offline is replayed at the next sync. A member without write rights gets a clear “change refused” message instead of a false “synced”.
