Activate the desktop license
Activation links your desktop install to your Pro subscription. It takes 5 steps and is done only once per computer.
Prerequisite: You must have an active Pro subscription. See how to subscribe.
Step 1 — Open Settings > License
In the desktop app, open the Settings menu from the sidebar, then select the License tab.
Step 2 — Copy your Machine ID
The Machine ID is a unique, stable identifier for your computer. Click the copy icon next to the field to copy it to the clipboard.
Note: The Machine ID does not change between restarts. You only activate the license once per computer.
Step 3 — Generate the license key
Sign in at lixpresentr.app/dashboard, go to the "Desktop license" section, paste your Machine ID, and click Generate.
Step 4 — Copy the generated key
A long key (base64 format) is displayed. Copy it entirely using the Copy button.
Step 5 — Paste and activate
Go back to the desktop app, paste the key in the "License key" field, and click Activate. A confirmation appears and Pro features unlock immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Invalid key: Check that the Machine ID used on the dashboard exactly matches the one shown in the app. A space or newline before/after the key can also cause this error.
- Subscription not detected: Make sure your Stripe payment is confirmed in your dashboard before generating the key.
- Changing computers: From the dashboard, you can revoke an existing activation and generate a new one for a different Machine ID.
